Ras Mikael AKA John M. Moodie was born in Hanover Jamaica W.I. a graduate of Camperdown High School. He migrated to the United States in 1973 after completing 2 years of the National Youth Service Program as a Teacher in Jamaica. He joined the U.S. Military while doing his tour of duty; John had a call and decide to find out who called him. In his search, he found Rastafari, Which during the search he created havoc for his Superiors. Ras Mikael was growing his locks in the military. He was Honorable discharge and decided to write his book.” Hath the Lion Prevailed” based on his search for Truth. His Book has been highly praised by his Rastafarian Family, and is regarded as “the best book in print about the Rastafarian Truth.” Ras Mikael has written a second Book “Daddy tell me about the Rastaman” a children’s book about a young Princess asking her Dad to tell her about Rasta.

Ras Mikael currently resides in south Florida and holds his faith that Emperor Haile Selassie 1 Is Jesus of Nazareth in his Kingly Character., as Father Savior, and King.
As a Poet, Ras Mikael has performed throughout the South Florida region from West Palm Beach to Miami. His Poem “I Salute You Dr. Martin Luther King” has won him the “Editor’s Choice Award” for Poetry.Com He has appeared on talk shows in Orlando at the University of Central Florida Radio show, Telephone radio appearance with “LIB Radio” in California, and WAVS 1170 in Ft Lauderdale spreading his truth, that Like a thief in the night the Messiah did come.
Presently Ras Mikael holds a Patent from the united states patent and Trade Mark Office for his invention of a Child Resistant electrical outlet cover. Professionally Ras Mikael is an Honor graduate of Broward Community College with an Associate in Computer engineering Science, He also holds a certification Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) issued by Microsoft.
