Harriet Tubman “MISS MINTY” a warrior the father called.

A hero, in my people’s struggles, history will recall

Answer the fathers summoned to bring his people home

From the grip of the slave master’s hold

Born a slave, you were a slave, was how your journey began

When guided by the north star, you made your courageous run

To the north was your destination

For there was some freedom

Thousands of miles you journey to and fro

Never to tell Pharoah to let your people go

But to snatch them from his chains

Taking them to freedom through dangerous terrains

You make the journey again and again

The underground railroad was an invisible train

With passengers frightened and afraid

Faith and trust were the only ticket they paid.

For Harriet Tubman to come to their aide

Those thousands of tracks you laid.

Covered by the clouds of darkness you made.

Surely the light of Jah must have shone from your eyes

So, you could see your way in those dark covered skies.

Dogs with their slave trackers masters

With whips and guns, you they came after

But since your train was guided by a higher plain

Only the righteous could see your train

Harriet Tubman, a Yankee soldier you became

A scout, a tracker, a nurse you were at it again

Contributor of hope, freedom fighter, a Miss Moses

With such courage, bravery, and determination you boast.

Leaving a bright star that will remain

In the archives of American history

The invisible railroad was a mystery

Founded and run by Miss Harriet Tubman
